Anela was born and raised in Kailua, Oʻahu where she learned to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.
She is a proud beneficiary of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop as a thirteen-year student at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, graduating with an Honors Diploma in 2012. Throughout high school, Anela participated in track and field, cross country, and student leadership.
Anela is currently attending the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, working towards a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Although not yet certain on a specific track within business, Anela hopes that interning with the trust will help her decide. While the details of her career path are still unclear, her dream job would involve being a leader in the Hawaiian community. However, she also still secretly holds on to her childhood dream of being a Hawaiian Airlines flight attendant or owning a coffee shop. Perhaps she can find a way to do it all.
When Anela is not busy planning her future, doing homework, or working at the Food Company in Kailua, she enjoys spending time with family and staying active. In November 2014, Anela and her husband adopted his two younger siblings, for whom she strives daily to set an example. Together they love going to the beach, hiking, or watching her husband Makani play football with the UH Rainbow Warriors. Anela also keeps in touch with her athletic side through coaching cross country at Kamehameha and training for the 2015 Honolulu Marathon. During free time, Anela loves reading self-improvement books, visiting local coffee shops, or simply trying to catch up on laundry … all of life’s simple pleasures.
