The Trust welcomed Ann-Marie Pualilia Fernandez to its ‘ohana in October 2007 as executive assistant to the board of trustees.
Prior to joining the Trust, Ann-Marie worked at Cutter Management/ Family Auto Centers, Castle Resorts & Hotels, Pacific Lightnet Inc. (formerly GST Telecom), and Honolulu Cellular.
Born and raised on the island of Oahu, Ann-Marie spent her early years in Palolo Valley. She resided in the Kaimuki area until the 7th grade when her family moved to Hawaii Kai and where they still reside today.
Ann-Marie began dancing hula at the age of six with Kumu Hula Ma‘iki Aiu Lake, and has continued dancing with Ma‘iki’s daughter, Kumu Hula Karen Kaohulani Aiu. She has performed with Kuuipo Kumukahi (the “Sweetheart of Hawaiian Music”), traveled to Japan and the U.S. Mainland to share the hula, and in 2006 won the “Miss Sophisticated Hula” award at the Hapa Haole Hula Festivals sponsored by the Pa‘i Foundation.
Ann-Marie is a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) Hawaii Chapter. She would like to become more involved with the chapter in a leadership capacity, and plans to take the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) and Organizational Management Specialty exams in the future.
Ann-Marie resides in Hawaii Kai with her husband Kenworth, daughter Gianna, three lovebirds, two parakeets, one pigeon and 4 cats (most of the pets are rescued animals).
