Janie Damon

Born and raised in Bend, Oregon, Janie moved to Kona in 2000 after raising her family and then earning a degree in Counseling Psychology from George Fox University.

She worked as a bereavement counselor for Hospice in both Oregon and Kona, and has since worked with social service agencies in Kona, generally in contract with Child Protective Services.  Janie joined the Trust as of June 2015; and feels very blessed to be a part of the Kona team as she learns more about the privilege of serving Hawaiian families who are kamaliʻi of the Queen’s Trust.  In her free time, Janie enjoys being with her daughter’s family with two great grandchildren in Waimea, as well as getaways to Portland to spend time with her other daughter.
