"Extremely joyous to be a part of our Queen’s ʻohana since 1999."
Beginning with an undergraduate practicum placement at Kīpuka Ko‘olau Poko, Rowena’s journey include a job-share position as “community worker” with Aunty Thelma Ulsh-Cotter. After obtaining a master’s degree in social work from UH Mānoa, her position evolved to social worker. Rowena embraced opportunities to serve beneficiaries and their `ohana on Lana`i, Kīpuka Moloka`i and Kīpuka Windward O‘ahu. A few of Rowena’s favorite things to do while not at the office are: working in the garden; playing, laughing, caring, & cooking udon for her mo`opuna; having intellectual conversations and building & strengthening relationships with each of her 5 adult children; and finally, ‘growing old’ with Coco.
