Stairway to Heaven came to mind as we wound our way to the tip (1,600 foot elevation) of the trust lands at Honohina.  The Aguiar family is using the 2,800-acre parcel, located on the Hamakua Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, primarily for ranching and agriculture.

“The family has restored these lands for productive use after 150-years of use for growing sugarcane,” said Kehau Harrison, trust executive assistant.

"So peaceful and nurturing," said Ann-Marie Fernandez, trust executive assistant.

Our special mahalo extends to Phyllis, Shawn, and Kevin Aguiar and to Sally Rice for sharing the spirit and wonder of this special place.

And a new day will dawn for those who stand long

And the forests will echo with laughter
