Kahele Porter is from Nu‘uanu, O‘ahu. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and has worked for over 12 years in community building and organizing throughout the island of O‘ahu.
This experience brought Kahele to the Trust in 2012. He considers himself blessed to serve Queen Lili‘uokalani and to be a part of fulfilling her valuable mission. Kahele is a dedicated father to his teenage daughter Emma. When he is not working, he spends his free time supporting Emma in volleyball, basketball and school. His favorite Hawaiian saying is “Ma ka hana, ka ‘ike” (it is in doing that one obtains knowledge). It is an ‘ōlelo no‘eau that Kahele has found useful in grounding himself and his daughter.
