There was nary a dry eye at Shawna-Lei Kuehu’s final presentation of what she learned as the 2014 trust summer intern. Before trustees, associates, and her basketball coach at the University of Hawaiʻi Laura Beeman (pictured above), Shawna-Lei gave an emotional and heartfelt presentation of what she learned about business and programs for beneficiaries.
“How proud the Queen must be to see her vision blossom into an organization which serves thousands of Hawaiian children in need,” said Shawna-Lei.
“You have many fine qualities of character and leadership that will aid you in your future goals,” said Thomas Kaulukukui, Jr., chairman and managing trustee.
“The entire experience far exceeded any expectation I had … truly amazing,” said Coach Beeman in expressing how proud she was of Shawna-Lei, her team’s Most Valuable Player.
