Music | 2-week program

The Mele Kukui program will be a 2-week exploratory music course focusing on various elements of traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music. This program will take ʻōpio on a journey, exploring music of the past, present, and future of Hawaiʻi. Students will also have hands-on experience, developing their creative artistry through songwriting, music production, and basic music theory. This program will be led by some of Hawaiʻi’s musical artists who have learned to navigate today’s ever-changing world while deepening their roots in Hawaiian culture. Mele Kukui will encourage and foster the next generation of music leaders. Experience in music is not required.
