Nahe Kawano

No Molokai mai ʻo ia, he kama a Hina.

Nahe, the eldest of three, was born and raised on Molokai. At 12, she and her cousin spent 3-months camping in Halawa Valley with limited supervision and no electricity. This experience taught her skills like cooking rice on a stove, driving a stick-shift on rugged roads, setting crab traps, and negotiating with boaters for adventures to Wailau Valley.

Nahe moved to Hilo, where she earned a degree in Psychology and met her long-term partner. She later returned to Molokai to care for her ʻohana, completed the Hawaiian Learning Program, and earned a master’s degree in social work.

Nahe began her career at Liliʻuokalani Trust as a practicum student. She went on to work as a school counselor before returning to LT to dedicate herself full-time to serving our Queen.
