In collaboration with the California Institute of the Arts – Community Arts Partnership (CAP) and ArtChangeUS, participating kamaliʻi will explore their artistic passions through animation, creative media and film, and performing arts.See the list below for more information about our 2018 summer programs:Animation Academy: June 25 – July 21, 2018 (Youth Ages 12-18)CLOSEDThis FREE 4-week program will offer students an opportunity to learn animation techniques (Zoetropes, flip books, hand-drawn cell animation, stop motion, puppet animation, etc.), all while remaining rooted in Hawaiian culture. All participating youth will have the opportunity to produce their own individual animated short film, as well as participate in a collaborative group film.Creative Media Music Video: June 11 – 22, 2018 (Youth Ages 14-18)CLOSEDThis FREE 2-week program will be centered around teamwork, self-exploration, learning about filmmaking, writing, video production skills, and creating a music video.Performing Arts Summer Camp: July 8 – 21, 2018 (Youth Ages 11-13)CLOSEDThis FREE 2-week, residential camp will offer students an opportunity to learn a variety of art forms, from renowned artists from Hawaiʻi and across the nation.Participating youth will explore the following disciplines:DANCE: Hip hop, step, contemporary/modernTHEATRE: Dramatic performancePOETRY: Spoken wordHAWAIIAN: Hula, oli, languagePERCUSSION: Afro-Brazilian drummingClick here to view a full list of performing arts artists.
