LT Names Mercedes Lanza Chief Administrative Officer

HONOLULU, June 25, 2019 – Mercedes Lanza was promoted to chief administrative officer at Liliʻuokalani Trust (LT). In this newly created role, she will report to the president and chief executive officer.

Ms. Lanza will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the high-functioning information technology, people operations, organizational development, communications, office administration and risk management teams. She will play an essential role in curating a distinct, thriving, exponentially changing organization committed to serving the Hawaiian community, and will serve as a thought partner to the CEO and executive team.

Ms. Lanza joined LT in December 2016 as its chief people officer, bringing her extensive HR expertise and experience in leading through strategic change. At LT she has overhauled the entire human resources and organizational development departments, reengineered all human resource systems, rebuilt its performance management program, improved leadership capabilities and revamped its Total Rewards program. She has been integral to transforming LT’s HR operating model and culture to align with the organization’s rapid growth and long-term plans.

Prior to joining LT, Ms. Lanza was the director of human resources for University Health Partners of Hawaii, an affiliate of the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Ms. Lanza received her bachelor’s degree and graduate degree in Public Administration and Human Resources Management from the University of Central Florida. She currently serves as a member of the SHRM Hawaii Workforce Development Committee and is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional.
