Kitana "Tana" Kaili-Mendoza is from the vibrant community of Hilo, Hawai'i. A recent graduate of the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, she earned her bachelor’s degree in communications, bringing with her a deep passion for connecting with others and sharing stories.

Tana has recently joined Nā Leo o Kamaka’eha, where she is excited to contribute to the group’s mission of empowering youth.

In her free time, Tana enjoys the simple pleasures of life, such as going to the beach, shopping, and spending quality moments with her husband, family, and friends. Her love for dance, particularly hula, has been a lifelong passion; although she no longer dances professionally, she continues to bring joy and cultural expression to family events and parties.

As a dedicated member of Nā Leo o Kamaka’eha, Tana aspires to provide a nurturing environment where young people can explore their identities and discover their potential.

She believes in the importance of creating a safe and supportive space for youth to build a strong foundation, helping them turn their dreams and aspirations into tangible success. Through her work, Tana hopes to inspire the next generation to embrace their uniqueness and thrive in whatever paths they choose.
