Makai Keahoulu blue ocean and shoreline

Sean Kekahuna

Sean Kaleohano Kekahuna Jr. is from the island of Molokai, where he has lived in Hoʻolehua his entire life, spending time across various parts of the island with his extended ʻohana, including his aunts, uncles, grandparents, and parents.

Raised by his entire family, Sean's upbringing instilled in him strong values of ʻohana and community, shaping him into a person who deeply values the connections and lessons passed down by those around him.

Through his involvement with Liliʻuokalani Trust (LT), Sean has had the privilege of being mentored by numerous individuals, each contributing uniquely to his growth. Among these mentors, Kanoa Beair, known to Sean as “Uncle Kanoa,” was a pivotal figure in his life. Acting as a father figure, Uncle Kanoa supported and guided Sean, helping him achieve goals that once seemed unattainable.

A recent graduate of Molokaʻi High School, Sean has nurtured a wide range of passions, including music, sound design, culinary arts, baking, and weightlifting. His desire to help others discover their own passions and build brighter futures drives his commitment to community service.

Sean’s decision to join Nā Leo is a testament to his dedication to giving back to the program and the mentor who played such an instrumental role in his life. He aspires to positively impact the lives of other kamaliʻi, equipping them with the tools and confidence to contribute meaningfully to their communities, just as his mentors Uncle Kanoa, Uncle Kekama, and Uncle Ikaika did for him.
