Hilo - PuaʻAla Bloom - Fall

Kīpuka Hilo

PuaʻAla Bloom brings high school youth together in person at Kīpuka Hilo to imagine, build, and share real business ideas in a safe and supportive space with caring adults who know their names.

Across 13 in-person sessions, Kamalei explores entrepreneurship through hands-on activities like business planning, basic marketing, financial literacy, and creative problem-solving. Youth work together, try new skills, and learn in a consistent environment where curiosity and effort are valued.

You will choose a focused pathway in baking, arts (including 3D printing and Cricut), or services. You can create ideas that make sense for real life, learn about food safety in certified kitchen environments, meet new people, and build confidence by working as a team.

A Holiday Huakaʻi on Saturday, December 5th includes visits to the Waikīkī International Marketplace and Liliʻuokalani Trust, offering real-world examples of entrepreneurship and community-based businesses guided by trusted mentors.

The program closes with a Hōʻike-style showcase where Kamalei present their business plans and stories of learning, growth, and creativity. This is a caring space to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Apply today.
