Hilo - Lamakū o Naʻauao - Fall Break

Kīpuka Hilo

This is a safe and supportive space where Kamalei learn photography as both a skill and a way to tell their story. Every image becomes a place to slow down, notice, and connect to culture and identity.

Kamalei learns camera basics, lighting, posing, and digital editing while exploring how photography carries moʻolelo. Through a PhotoVoice approach, youth photograph spaces connected to their own stories, drawing inspiration from kūpuna narratives and lived community experience.

You will take photos, edit images, meet new people, and work alongside others who see the world with curiosity. You are invited to try new tools, share your perspective, and find your people in a consistent environment guided by caring adults and trusted mentors.

Kamalei builds creative confidence, strengthens cultural pride, and develops transferable skills that carry into future creative and career pathways. Sign up today.
