Ho'ohiki

Ho'ohiki is a program for ages 13 to 17, to encourage healing in a safe space. The program uses cultural concepts to help participants build self-confidence, identify their own emotions, strengthen relationships, embrace responsibility, and set future goals.

During the program, participants will:

  • Write their mo'olelo and learn about Queen Lili'uokalani's legacy.
  • Create a family tree to appreciate how ancestors shape their future.
  • Hear stories from others on how they accepted responsibility.
  • Design a personal meme to create boundaries and expectations.
  • Write letters and journals to develop forgiveness and attitude.
  • Set intentions for both long- and short-term plans.
