Kauaʻi - Kauluwena - Summer

Kīpuka Kauaʻi

Kauluwena is a program created for middle and high school girls to support confidence, healing, and self-discovery. This is a space where you can learn about yourself, connect with others, and step more fully into who you are becoming.

Each session blends learning, group discussion, and interactive activities that encourage self-expression and peer connection. You’ll explore self-esteem, anxiety, body image, and friendships while building practical tools you can use in everyday life. Activities include creating self-esteem collages, building anxiety toolboxes, practicing mindfulness, and setting personal goals for the months ahead.

You’ll also learn about the cultural and sacred significance of waimaka lehua and menstruation, grounded in respect, care, and ʻike kūpuna. These conversations are held in a supportive environment that honors your experiences and encourages self-compassion.

Kauluwena comes from the words ulu, meaning to grow, and wena, meaning radiance. This program supports you in growing into your glow while strengthening resilience, confidence, and emotional, social, and cultural well-being.

You do not need to have all the answers. Just bring your openness, your curiosity, and your willingness to grow alongside others.

*All are welcome to apply with preference given to Native Hawaiian kamalei.
