Kona Māihi ʻili - Spring

Kīpuka Kona

Māihi ʻili is your journey of healing through the art of Tōʻere drum-making and rhythms. This program offers a culturally grounded approach to mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, helping you manage stress, build resilience, and strengthen self-awareness.

You’ll create your own Tōʻere drum and learn traditional rhythms, with each stage of drum-making symbolizing a step in your healing process:

-Laʻa (Vulnerable Stage): Raw wood represents openness and hurt.

-Maʻa (Healing Stage): Shaping and refining the wood reflects growth and inner strength.

-Paʻa (Resilient Stage): A completed drum symbolizes confidence and clarity.

Along the way, you’ll gain practical skills in woodworking, creative expression, and cultural practice while developing coping strategies, self-esteem, and healthy social connections.

Māihi ʻili is more than a class, it’s a space to discover new passions, deepen cultural identity, and embrace healing as a lifelong rhythm. Come ready to create, connect, and grow.
