Taylor "Maeʻole" Quanan Maeʻole was born and raised on Hawaiʻi Island. She graduated from Kealakehe High School and continued her education at the University of Tsukuba, Japan, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in International and Social Studies. Inspired by international innovation, Maeʻole returned to Hawaiʻi to help decrease their houselessness. Her frontline work inspires her advocacy work. She is a Kuleana Academy graduate and former Young Progressives Demanding Action board member. She was one of the first Hawaiʻi State Youth Commissioners and a current member of the Oʻahu Economic Development Board. Maeʻole enjoys partnering with organizations and businesses in helping our lāhui thrive. Maeʻole fancies a good bucket hat and feels the color orange is happiness. She misses her grandma's conversations and watches TEDtalks daily in search of grandma's wisdom. The ocean with her dog is where she has healed from a lot of trauma and grief. Together, these experiences and responsibilities inform her work as a Housing Navigator. She is honored to be a part of Queen Liliʻuokalani's legacy by helping kamaliʻi access safe and dignified housing.
