Christian Naea Christian Hauʻoli Keiki O Keakua Naea is the Vice President and Chief Program Officer at Liliʻuokalani Trust. He is of Native Hawaiian descent, hailing from the Garden Island of Kauaʻi, where he graduated from Kapaʻa High School. Christian earned his bachelor’s degree in History and his master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.With over 20 years of experience in positive youth development, Christian has dedicated his career to supporting underserved youth. His work with Boys & Girls Clubs across Hawaiʻi and New Mexico has led to significant programmatic growth, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes for youth in need. In addition, Christian has expanded services to rural and high-need communities, developed and implemented academic and enrichment programs during the COVID-19 pandemic, and spearheaded initiatives deeply rooted in positive youth development principles.Christian believes that the well-being of Native Hawaiian children must be at the heart of every program strategy. He draws inspiration from Liliʻuokalani Trust’s unwavering commitment to Queen Liliʻuokalani’s vision and legacy.Outside of work, Christian and his wife, Kelly, are proud parents to one daughter and four rescue dogs. He enjoys hiking, reading, playing video games, and is eager to return to outrigger canoe paddling. A passionate traveler, Christian thrives on exploring new destinations, immersing himself in different cultures, and sampling local cuisines.
