Ginger Fuata Virginia “Ginger” Fuata grew up in Nānākuli and Waiʻanae on the Leeward Coast of Oʻahu. Both her parents hail from the island of Maui; her motherʻs side from Ulupalakua; her fatherʻs side from Keʻanae. She graduated from Waiʻanae High School and attended the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Before working for our Queen, Ginger was an auditor for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) for ten years; she also owned a wholesale business called “Image of Hawaiʻi” for 20 years. One thing Ginger is thankful for everyday is that Ke Akua gives and allows her to spend time with loved ones, friends, extended ʻohana, and her community. The most significant value she tries to uphold in her life is “mālama” – mālama ʻohana (family), mālama ʻāina (land), mālama kaiāulu (community), and mālama kekahi i kekahi (one another).
