Makalauna Feliciano Maka was fortunate to be raised in two places, Waimānalo, Oʻahu and Kahului, Māui. He graduated from H.P. Baldwin High School at the age of 17 and moved to Oʻahu to attend the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Maka has been blessed to have many Hawaiian practitioners in his life, particularly Uncle Harry Mitchell of Keʻanae, Māui, in his early years. Hawaiian music and hula have enriched Maka's life for over 40 years and provided him the opportunity to travel the world, including Hong Kong, China, Korea, Japan, North America, Portugal, Amsterdam, Australia, New Zealand, Morocco, Gibraltar, Tahiti, and Spain. He recently built his own home in Lualualei where he resides with his four lovable children and loving wife.
