Marie Fitzsimons

Marie lives in Makawao, upcountry Maui with her beloved family, her husband Rich, their children Luan and Patrick, and their extended ʻohana. She has always been an island girl. She spent her childhood in Ireland and traveled for many years before settling down in Maui in 2004. She loves being immersed in the saltwater of the ocean, breathing in the fragrance of the trees in the mountains, and watching the ever-changing colors in the sky as the sunsets.

Marie obtained her bachelor’s degree at University College, Dublin, and her master’s degree in social work at the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa.

Marie loves supporting families as they navigate through all the waves of life’s challenges. She feels very blessed to serve Queen Liliʻuokalani in nurturing families. They become attuned and strengthened through the culturally meaningful work at LT.

Her favorite ʻōlelo noʻeau is
“He kehau hoʻomaʻemaʻe ke aloha. Aloha is like a cleansing dew.”
