Matthew "Kapono" Naeʻole

A proud graduate of Ke Kula Kaiapuni ʻo Kekaulike and UH Maui College, Kapono Naeʻole brings over a decade of experience in youth development to his role at the Trust.

He has led a wide range of programs, with a particular focus on Hawaiian culture, history, and language, while also fostering strong connections between youth and ʻāina.

Kapono draws inspiration from his family’s deep commitment to cultural education, particularly the impactful work of his father in conservation, education, and canoe paddling. He is honored to continue this legacy of service in his role, serving Queen Liliʻuokalani.

Outside of work, Kapono loves to spend time with his family, participates in outrigger canoe paddling, and enjoys reading.
