Kālamakūokalani Namba

Raised and rooted in Mānoa, Kālamakūokalani Namba, a freshman at Kapiʻolani Community College joins the Nā Leo o Kamakaʻeha team.

To Kālamakūokalani, life is best expressed in the Hawaiian saying, "kulia i ka nuʻu," signifying the relentless pursuit of excellence in every aspect of one's existence. Kalāmakūokalani's decision to be a part of this cohort just felt right as it resonates deeply with his desire to empower, guide, and educate the next generation. He believes that many children, particularly those facing hardships, often lack the necessary support systems and guidance they need to thrive. He envisions Nā Leo o Kamakaʻeha being an effective catalyst for breaking the cycle of generational trauma and strife for the lāhui.

As he progresses in his academic career, he's aiming to transfer to the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa in the fall of 2024 where he'll major in nonprofit management. His aim is to pass on the knowledge and experience he gains from this program and his studies to the next generation, providing them with the necessary tools to achieve their goals, pursue their passions, and unleash their full potential.
