Upcycle Fashion (High School) - Spring

Liliʻuokalani Center

Upcycle Fashion is where creativity meets sustainability. This hands-on program empowers ʻōpio (youth) to design, sew, and express individuality through wearable art.

You’ll start with the basics such as essential design principles and sewing techniques, then move on to projects like tote bags and custom pieces that reflect your style. From upcycling pre-loved materials to creating original designs, you’ll learn how art and fashion can transform not just clothing, but the way we think about resources.

Along the way, you’ll build practical skills in design, construction, and finishing, while exploring how fashion can tell stories and spark change. Whether you’re new to sewing or ready to level up, this program offers a supportive space to learn, experiment, and create.

No experience needed. Just bring your ideas and curiosity. Join us and make something that’s truly yours.
