Hoʻohiki - Spring

Kīpuka Kauaʻi

Hoʻohiki is your space to rise above hardship and reclaim your story. This three-phase program supports youth ages 13–17 who may be navigating grief, substance use, truancy, sexual assault, or other challenges.

Rather than defining you by risk, Hoʻohiki focuses on your strengths and potential. Through cultural grounding, mentorship, and personal reflection, you’ll learn tools for self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and resilience.

In Phase I, you’ll explore the past, connecting Queen Liliʻuokalani’s story of resilience and leadership to your own life. You’ll learn about historical trauma, practice forgiveness, and strengthen cultural identity. This phase ends with a creative expression piece inspired by the Queen’s artistry during imprisonment.

Later phases help you reflect on the present, release hurt, and set goals for the future. You’ll envision yourself as a leader and contributor to your community through activities like vision boards, cultural art, and a youth-led project.

Hoʻohiki is more than a program, it’s a pathway to healing, confidence, and cultural pride. Come ready to learn, create, and lead with strength.
