In this program, you’ll receive ʻukulele instruction as a kaikuaʻana (older youth), then turn around and teach younger kamaliʻi (beneficiaries) what you’ve learned. It’s a chance to grow your musical skills while stepping into a leadership role.You’ll start with guided lessons to build your foundation in ʻukulele technique, music theory, and practice habits. Once you’re confident, you’ll help younger participants learn in a way that’s fun, supportive, and rooted in pilina (relationship).Teaching is part of the learning. You’ll gain confidence, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of music by sharing it with others. You’ll also strengthen your kuleana (responsibility) as a mentor and role model, helping build a community where everyone lifts each other up.No teaching experience needed.
